Taking A Ni

As people moved on and off the dance floor, he laughed, "let's get you some wine." He walked her over to a large table with a bright red sign over it. It read, "Of your gonna drink, obey the law...don't drive, do the watermelon crawl!"

He walked up as a brightly dressed Twi'lek smiled at him. "Sharif, what can I get for you two" she asked.

He held up two fingers, "two please."

She handed him two plastic cup with a reddish liquid in it. The drink tasted sweet and had a fruit flavor to it. He handed one to Ni and kept one for himself.

Ni winked at the Twi'lek and, attempting her best accent, said, "Thank you kindly, ma'am." She took a swig from the cup, moaned pleasurably at the taste, and then tipped the cup completely, downing the drink in just a few seconds. The Zeltron turned to Kaleb and nodded approvingly. "Not very strong, but the taste is wonderful!" She set the empty cup at the bar and pulled him onto the dance floor playfully, giggling, "Dance with me!!"

It seemed that the Zeltron was a fast learner, or at least an experienced dancer. In the few moments that she had been inside the festival she had noted the movements of the other dancers and now used them on the sheriff. Ni dipped down, spun around, and gently moved backwards into him, wrapping his arms around her waist and swaying her hips.

It took a few songs for Ni to pick up the different styles of dance that many of these local too years to pick up. But in short order, Ni was dancing like a local herself. With names like 'Two-Step', 'Square Dance' and 'Line Dancing' it took a bit for her to figure out what style dance went to which songs.

The most important thing that Ni was able to pick up on was the local mentality was less focused on Galactic Politics. But there were a number that were glued to the reports about Graff while they were drinking at the bar. In the corner, Ni saw a table occupied by a group of people with a homemade flag leaning up against the wall. The flag had a curvy long thing on it. After a few moments she realized the thing was a snake of some kind. The words under the snake rang outnclearly to Ni. 'Don't Tread On Me'

Ni adored the energy of the place. She had always been a social butterfly, and tonight was no exception. As she danced she would engage the crowd, and as she mingled with the locals she would tell jokes and make pleasant conversation. One of the topics she subtly wove in was what Baklid royalty was like, specifically what happened at the palace. The Zeltron liked to leave a trail of smiles, laughter, and lust for life wherever she tread. She knew how to make a good impression. Soon all of the excitement left her flushed and a little winded, however, she was not the type that slowed down.

When the song came on Ni could feel the energy in the room rise again. She hopped eagerly, added her voice to the local's cheers, and grinned up at Kaleb. Ni stole a kiss and pulled him to a more centralized spot on the dance floor, laughing happily as she moved to the song and encouraged him to join her.

The pair danced across the dance floor and it was clear that Ni was attracting a lot of attention. The live bands continued to play for the guests as more and more people showed up. Sharif Saar pointed out the different groups of lawmen in attendance. One thing that Ni noticed was the steady flow of those coming and going. Saar explained that they were rotating in and out to make sure that the entire county was well covered.

After a few songs he led her off thebdamce floor, "as much as I love this, it is time for our date to end. I have to take up patrol so others can enjoy the party."

Ni's face fell at these words, suddenly all mirth leaving her. "Then let me patrol with you!" she said, hugging his arm, "I don't want this night to end just yet. And I've never had the experience of going on a local patrol before!"

He laughed and nodded, "sure, but I am not so sure you will like it."

As they walked out, Ni took note that more than a few of the party goers were strong supporters of Graff and his changes that he brought to this world. Nearly two and half years ago, Graff came to Baklid and slaughtered over three hundred members of the former government. He restructured the government and left the Crown Prince. Who was the sole surviving member of the Royal House, not counting Lysire, as the current head of the planets government. For these people, Graff's actions were seen as draining the swamp and making the government work again.

As the walked out, a number of people walking past greeted him as "sheriff."

The pair climbed back in to the speeder and he started up the vehicle. He activated his comlink, "Base, this is Sheriff Saar. I am back on the beat."

A female voice came over the comlink, "I hope you didn't drink too much wine, Sheriff."

He laughed, "No, no repeats of last year."

She snickered, "well Sheriff, the Palace wants to know if there is any updates on the Market Place situation."

He rolled his eyes, "Tell them that we don't have new leads other than we suspect that Unna Hi Chaanu is on world somewhere. We plan to continue to search for her."

Ni's frown was short lived, soon replaced by a carefree smile when the com turned off. "Well, politics aside, I see what appeals to you about this world. I love it here." She placed her hand on his thigh and asked, "But what about your real family, the one in the core world? Do you ever miss them? Did they ever try to find you?"

he laughed deeply, "miss them!?" He glanced over at her as they sped back to the city. "If I had remained, I would be Duke Saar. Instead, I gave that honor to my younger brother." He laughed between statements, "Oh he was so mad, when they discovered that I had left. He even tried to hunt me down. Caught up with me in the Mid Rim, but I gave him the slip."

He shook his head, "man to think of what I would have become if I decided to stay. Some stuffy bureaucrat....." he sighed, "No thank you ma'am." He laughed once more

Ni giggled, rubbing his thigh, "I can't imagine you as a stuffy bureaucrat. That was so bold, leaving everything you knew and setting out into the great unknown!" The Zeltron looked down at his lap, then back up to his eyes. "How long will we be on patrol? What are we going to do?" then her eyes lit up with an idea and she leaned into him, whispering a question flirtatiously, "Have you ever experienced someone going down on you while driving a landspeeder?" Ni looked up at him suggestively.
