Taking A Ni

He nodded, "they are illegal. Well the Crown Prince has deemed them illegal. Many of my deputies had raised this very question to Graff and his people. The Law was put in place by the Prince, but it is considered unjust so we were told to use our best gudgement. I guess in a way, it was Graff's way of allowing the people to have a say over what some kid wants. I don't really agree with it. But almost everyone I work with does."

He walked over to the driver's side and got in, "so we have allowed the Militias to carry seeing how they help us keep the peace. We turn a blind eye on a few criminals like Be'is back there, because they know when to help us."

"Situations like the market place give us the authority to push for answers that a person really doesn't want to give."

He started up the speeder and looked at her, "I can't honesty tell you if it's right or not. But I can say it works."

[Gar]

"What you just described to be is a double standard. Makes no sense, turning a blind eye to some laws and then strictly upholding others. If you can break one for a good cause, then you can break them all." Ni's eyes narrow as another idea crosses her mind. "If the military is willing to force choke someone for running, what do you think they'd do to a lowlife withholding essential information that they require?" She looked into his eyes pointedly. "It seems it would be more merciful to force the information from his mind, rather than wait for the military to do worse to him. Or do you make a habit of hiding your leads from your liberators?"

His eyes narrowed as if she had crossed a line, "withholding essential information, huh," he said with anger in his voice. He smacked the controls, "well detective, that changes everything!" He got out and started to walk around to the other side to open her door. He continued to speak as he made his way to her, "I mean I assure you have some proof that he is withholding something." Smacking the hood and laughing, "I mean I have know that little weasel for almost twenty years. But yes! Let's rip what ever you suspect is there out." He finally reached her, "but answer me this. What if your wrong Detective!?"

Ni couldn't help but grin devilishly up at him during his outburst, her eyes suddenly glittering with arousal. "Ooo, this is something new and interesting," she said with a twinge of amusement, stepping out from the speeder and wrapping her arms around his waist. She giggled, "I like your temper. To be honest, I'm kind of hoping you will throw me up against the speeder next and use that strong tongue of yours to do the rest." She touches one of her fingers to his lips daintily.

He opened his mouth to speak but caught his words as the radio come to life. "Sheriff. Sheriff you out there hun?"

He looked at her with a bit of anger, "we will continue this in a moment."he reached in to the speeder and picked up the remote for the comlink. "Base, whatcha got?"

The woman's voice rang clearly, "Sheriff the Dawson Militia said that they apprehended a rapist. I sent Swig over and he said you need to come on over. They think they got that guy responsiblfor the Elk Street Poisoning."

Sheriff Saar nodded, "tell them we will be there in a few minutes." He tossed the remote back in to the speeder. "Okay your little game will have to wait." He said walked back to his side of the speeder. "Jump in and you will real detective work."

[Gar]

Ni clapped excitedly and jumped back inside. "But the whole throw-me-up-against-the-speeder idea is still on the table, right?" She folded her hands in her lap and looked up at him hopefully. "Sorry, Sheriff. You will find that I am easily aroused. But I welcome those feelings, because they keep the bad feelings away."

He kicked up the lights and red and blue lights flashed around the speeder as he took off at a high rate of speed. "As I said, I just don't get those feelings. It's not just the plumbing that's broke. I had a specialist check it out. And I was told that there was nothing that could be done. By this time, I had been using for so long that it made no sense to stop. I just learned to deal with it."

He smiled at her, "but that doesn't mean I can't push you over the edge." He said moving his hand to the place between them. He patted the seat as he spoke, "but can't do that on the first date."

"It seems I am also able to push you over the edge, in one way or another," Ni replied teasingly, lacing his hand around her own, "But you can't do it on the first date? Or you won't? Is that another one of your personal rules?"

As they traveled the Zeltron typed a message to Duncan on her data pad:

"I ha an mazing elaxed night drining atermelon wne and dancig. o to bed soon, I know you hve that project ut I want yu wide awake tomoow for he beach. ell the othes they re welcome to lay.  Love, Herlah"

"I got me a temper, that is true. Not something you should be proud about provoking." He half smiled at her and nodded, "ain't just ask score to me. I am for real."

He pointed to a group of lights, "that's where we are going."

The Zeltron pulled away her hand and sighed. "Look, Mister, I don't care if people think I'm a piece of meat or a piece of vegetable or whatever. I don't care if people cozy up to me just because they want to score. As long as they give me a good time, I'm happy, and that is how I have stayed happy since I left the academy." Ni turned her head to add emphatically, "I want to be used and I want to receive new experiences. What I ~don't~ want is people trying to put me in a box or tell me what I need. I am perfectly capable of determining that by myself."
