The Boss Man (Round 2)

The Zeltron nodded softly against his chest. "Now will you tell me of your victories?" She asked quietly, taking one of his hands and spreading it open, tracing the lines of his palm with her fingertips.

He chcuckled. "There are times if I wonder if I've had any." He then went on to tell her the times he kept Auro alive, as his first job was that of his protector. Though the fact that Auro had been killed by Graf, it was after he had been relieved of that duty and made commander of the 10th. The groups time on Frey, which helped lead to Frey's departure from the Republic but kept them from joining the OPA for now. They had also uncovered Hays' attrocities and brought him to justice. The successful turnover of the Jedi temple to the scesmatic Jedi, which she had been a witness to. But as he recounted those victories it could be noticed that he really wasn't considering them his, but rather the groups. As opposed to the failures, even though not all his fault, he took on his own shoulders.

"Well that isn't very fair, is it?" Ni remarked matter-of-factly, noticing the difference, "I wonder why you only hold yourself accountable for things that go wrong?" She continued to idly stroke the palm of his hand.

"You know, it takes a special person to lead in the first place. Not everyone can do it--" she laughed in spite of herself, "Like, can you imagine if I was in charge? I don't think a lot would get done." She sat herself up so that she could look directly in his eyes, "And leaders aren't expected to do all the work, they just help organize us toward a goal...Like when you told me to gather Intel with that sheriff. I never would have thought of that or done that on my own without your instruction. We are a team. Our victories are just as much our victories as our failures are our failures. You shouldn't have to bear our failures alone."

Ni cocked her head to the side and smiled. "You know, Boss Man, You don't give yourself enough credit. But I understand all too well that sometimes we just need to take a break from the heavy stuff. I'm not trying to tell you what you should do. I'm just suggesting that maybe you should cut yourself some slack, you know?" She smiled and, after a moment of studying him, bent down to kiss him gently.

"Thank you Ni." he said with a smile after returning her kiss with a quick peck of his own. "I'll try and remember that."
